What is #artistsupportpledge?

The Artist Support Pledge is a way for artists to achieve some financial stability, and to be supportive of one another, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Started by a single artist (Matthew Burrows) in Sussex, England in mid March 2020 it became a worldwide movement within one week.

Artists are invited to offer works of their choosing for sale at £200 or less on Instagram under their own accounts, using the hashtag #artistsupportpledge. Each time an artist participating reaches £1000 in sales, she in turn purchases another artist's work for £200, or makes a donation to a charitable cause of her choice in that amount, and continues the cycle forward. In this way, artists and their collectors can also communicate directly and build long lasting relationships, under transparent circumstances and artists strengthen their own networks and causes.

To purchase one of my works shown on this page for £200 (not including p&p) please contact me here. These works are available only through my Instagram account or via this site. The price on these pieces is well below my current pricing for such works.

From time to time during this difficult period, I will also offer slightly larger pieces/different materials at special prices, depending on the materials I have available. Such pieces will be higher than £200 but well below my current show prices, and I will also pledge 20% of these sales to the ArtistSupportPledge movement as well. This is because I normally work on larger works for shows, but public shows of my work are cancelled until further notice.

The #artistsupportpledge works above are mainly 20cm x 20cm, all are signed and dated. All are original works. Unframed (please message me if you would like the framing options).

Questions? Please email me at [email protected]. Thank you for your support.

I have painted these works for this initiative outside my studio after a number of requests, and I will add to this initial collection while the crisis continues. This is a great example of artists working to help each other in these unprecedented times and an opportunity for collectors to build lasting relationships with participating artists. It is most visible on Instagram, so follow @artistsupportpledge or #artistsupportpledge to learn more.
